Thursday, January 9, 2014, 7 PM
FREE Tickets. Reservations Required.

Killer rabbits and carnivorous plants are taking over the theater in Monty Python’s Spamalot and Little Shop of Horrors. Come for a sneak preview of these laugh-out-loud hit musicals at Spotlight Night on Thursday, January 9. Hosted by Executive Producer and Artistic Director David Armstrong, it’s a night of laughter and song when we explore just what puts the “comedy” in “musical comedy.”

ACT 1
Comedy Tonight: The Power of Laughter From political satires and charming romances to slapstick farces, we’ll take a quick and entertaining survey of comic theater through the ages.

ACT 2
Be a Clown: The Art of Being Funny A panel of some of Seattle’s funniest performers will give you an insider’s look at the joys and pitfalls of making people laugh.

ACT 3
Make ‘Em Laugh: A Brief History of the Musical Comedy We’ll explore the musical’s legacy of laughter, starting with the musical comedies of early Broadway and continuing up to the hilarity of such irreverent contemporary hits as The Producers, Hairspray, and The Book of Mormon.

With special musical performances by the casts of
Monty Python’s Spamalot and Little Shop of Horrors.
