Mavin’s annual Loving Day Celebration
Sunday, June 10, 2012, 12 – 4pm

Youngstown Cultural Arts Center
4408 Delridge Way SW
Seattle, WA 98106
Building Name / Room Number / Site Dance studio & Theater
Event Description Join Mavin for our annual event that supports and celebrates Mildred & Richard Loving and their landmark Supreme Court victory in 1967 for the right to marry interracially. This victory resulted in the abolition of all remaining laws across all states that made interracial marriage illegal. (Over a dozen states still had laws prohibiting interracial marriage at this time!)

This event is FREE and there will be refreshments, art, live music, live capoiera dance demonstrations, crafts for children, and a chance to meet others who are passionate about civil rights issues.

Mavin and other organizations across the nation join together in this celebration in support of the courage of the Loving couple. We encourage you to spread the word, bring your family, and join in on the fun!

Some of this year’s sponsors include the City of Seattle Neighborhood and Community Arts Program, Cheeky Cafe, Fuze beverages, and Loving Day.

Sunday, June 10th from noon – 4pm at Youngstown Cultural Arts Center 4408 Delridge Way SW, Seattle, WA 98106.
