New Voices Ensemble Theatre will present SIGNAL AT THE CROSSROAD by Artistic Director Isiah Anderson, Jr. A theatrical adaptation based on interviews with at-risk youth and the challenges they faced, SIGNAL AT THE CROSSROAD is an inspiring story based on 19 youth who dealt with various issues in their lives such as physical and sexual abuse, drugs, gang violence, and teen pregnancy. Anderson, Jr., has transformed these stories into a provocative and compelling narrative sure to touch audiences of all ages.
The presentation is a kick-off to New Voices Ensemble Theatre’s community-based program called Our Voices, which was created to give public voice to our communities’ most compelling stories. Individuals of all backgrounds and ages are invited year-round to submit their autobiographical stories in the form of plays, essays, spoken word pieces, poetry, and solo performances. SIGNAL AT THE CROSSROAD will be performed by featured youth actors.
