Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves

Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves is an interactive hour of living history where six African American women, Zora Neale Hurston, Josephine Baker, Fannie Lou Hamer, Madam C.J. Walker, Mae Jemison and Bessie Coleman, step out of the past to tell you about their lives, their failures and their triumphs. Meticulously researched, it blends costumes, music, and history with theatrical flair and more than just a little sass.

Sisters has received outstanding reviews from local and national audiences. And because this is an ongoing project, audience members are encouraged to talk, ask questions of the performers and propose other women they would like to see presented.

RSVP Requested, but Drop-Ins Welcome.
