Sponsored by the CAPITOL HILL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE. As part of setting up shop in our new home, we are delighted and grateful to be welcomed, along with our new, next-door neighbor Everyday Music, to the block and neighborhood. The Capitol Hill Chamber of Commerce, along with many of our new neighbors (on a less formal basis), is staging these welcoming festivities. For this round of celebratory doing, it’s expected our block of Tenth Avenue (between Pike and Pine) will be blocked off in Block Party manner, and that there will be some remark-making by City officials and others, music, food, and libations. Details on this, and much else, are still in the formative stages as this goes to press. As more develops, we will try to get information posted on here on our website. Needless to say, we will be anxious to be up and going again, doing what we seek to do every day—put books in readers’ hands. That we will be doing, and we’ll already be jumping into the virtually daily thing here of hosting a writer—in this case, Anchee Min, whose work we’ve long supported, a powerful and dramatic reader of powerful and dramatic work set in her home country of China. (See Min event listing on April 15.) And thank you.
