The Future Files
Directed by Shawn Belyea
This spring, we travel forward in time with two exciting, one-act plays that challenge us to think about the world we are creating…. “The Days of Perky Pat,” by the award-winning philosopher-author Philip K. Dick, dreams a world where survivors of a global thermonuclear war live off what they can scrounge from the wastes and supplies delivered from Mars. “The Sequence,” by Vince Delaney (Writer 1272), is about a young girl facing a fateful day: the reading of her genome. The results will decide her career, friendship, and even who she will marry. Those who show flaws are kicked out of the system, and on Kim’s big day, the unthinkable happens. Are her “flaws” a curse, or a blessing? What will the real future have in store for us?
|Performances: May 7, 8, 9|
Tickets for all youth productions are first-come, first serve at the door, available 1/2 hour before showtimes. Tickets are free, with a suggested donation to the scholarship fund. We rarely sell out completely, so you are usually assured of a ticket even if you come at the last minute, but it’s always nice to arrive about 15 minutes early.
