Seattle – In celebration of the 2009 holiday season, Macy’s is proud to announce that its annual Holiday Parade will take place on Friday, November 27, 2009 in downtown Seattle. The parade will begin promptly at 8:45 a.m. It will begin at 7th and Pine, travel west to 5th Avenue, south on 5th Avenue to University Street, west on University Street to 4th Avenue, and north on 4th Avenue, where it will deliver Santa to Macy’s.

This year’s parade, presented by The Seattle Times, will feature more than twenty balloon floats and inflatables, local high school marching bands, over 500 costumed characters, and community drill teams. The parade concludes with Santa’s arrival at Macy’s on a festive balloon float under a dramatic confetti snowstorm.

The balloon floats and inflatables, which incorporate over 50,000 balloons to form giant traveling floats, are making their 16th appearance in Seattle. Other floats feature a giant gingerbread house, sponsored by The Sheraton Hotel, a larger than life inflatable Frango™ and Ukranian Nesting Dolls.
